Machine Axe is a Large Sword in NieR: Automata. Machine Axe is a weapon used by machine lifeforms. It's mostly made of scrap metal, it has the Robot Discount perk which gives you 30% off on all items sold by robots, as well as the Machine Brand ability, which increases the weapon's damage for every enemy killed with it. Caps at 500 kills and does not count kills from shockwaves. Large Swords have the highest damage output out of all the Weapon types, but their attack speed is also the slowest.

An axe used by machine lifeforms.

Though cobbled together from scrap metal, this machine lifeform's axe packs a terrifying punch.

The damage numbers are wrong. Rank 4 is 1064-1330 before you start stacking machine brand. I'll update the numbers once I get the sockets I need. Also the upgrades list is wrong too. It needs 5 Dented sockets and 3 sturdy sockets instead of nuts.

Kills with the Shockwave don't count as weapon kills.
In other words don't use it if you're trying to rack up the number of defeated enemies with your Machine Brand weapons.

Also kills made by your partner don't count as well.

All Robot-weapons 4th upgrade add a "Hunt"-upgrade that increases damage for every monster you kill. Up to 500 maximum. Base damage wise, these kind of weapons are pretty solid and only get outclassed by weapons with critical on it. Although you can use Plug-In chips to add a critical chance yourself and make use of machine weapons for nice total-damage-numbers.
