Boku-Shi is a Boss in NieR: Automata. Boku-Shi is a Goliath Special Unit Machine Spider encountered in the City Ruins. Bosses are special larger Enemies that can be encountered throughout the game in different Locations. A Boss encounter will usually signify game progress or a chapter ending when following the main storyline. Some of these bosses may first be encountered As NPCs to introduce some Lore and backstory before they are inevitably faced in a Combat encounter as a Boss. Boss encountered are identified by their introductory title that will be displayed just before combat begins. Boku-Shi is one of few versions of the spider-like Goliath Boss units like So-Shi, but is a ranged version of the unit.

Boku-Shi Strategy (Melee) NieR Automata

Once you enter the arena, go straight for the unit and beware of the red laser lines that will shoot out larger beams. Be aggressive with your initial attacks and you have a chance to stagger the machine opening up a longer opportunity to deal additional attacks. Be aware of all sides of the sphere. It's rear can retract and shoot out an arm. Once it retracts into the hole, keep clear of this area. After the initial interaction more Machine Lifeforms will join the battle because its scream has the power to summon local machine lifeforms. It is advised that you still focus your attacks on the main Goliath unit. Especially if the HP bar at this point is already on the lower side.

Once the Goliath retracts into a sphere, be prepared for a few possible moves. It could charge forward, Slam down or spin and release a flurry of orbs. The player would benefit for backing up once the machine begins to change into this form. If the sphere lifts, prepare to jump to avoid taking in damage from the shockwaves that will follow. If it starts to charge up in this form, stay out of its line of sight to avoid the coming charge.

Close the distance in between attacks and repeatedly back away or reposition for each incoming attack. Slowly clear its HP until the sequence ends.

First Phase
3-Prong laser	This time the prongs in front of the unit have the ability to shoot laser beams. Circle behind or repostition to avoid the front of the unit.
Summon Machine Lifeforms	Its scream can summon Machine Liftorms to aid in battle. You will have to clear them to avoid damage.
Sphere Orb Release	Unit turns into a sphere, and begins spinning while releasing orbs. These orbs are sparse and are easy to avoid.
Ball Charge Attack	While in ball form, it charges forward in a linear direction. This attack can be anticipated. Move out of the way before the charge.
Slam	While in ball form, it lifts up and slams down resulting in a damaging wave that moves out radially. Begin to jump before it lands.
Stab	The unit can retract its limbs and shoot it back out. This move can be anticipated and avoided once you notices its limbs retracting. Stay away from the holes on the sphere. This usually emerges from its rear.
