Faith is a Small Sword in NieR: Automata. This weapon has also appeared in NieR Replicant and NieR Gestalt. It has the ability to gain health when you destroy incoming enemy projectiles, making it a powerful weapon. Small Swords are fast-swinging and one of the easiest Weapons to use among the different classes of weapons. It has decent attack speed perfect for chaining combos and used to deal with multiple enemies at once.
A sword wielded by a loyal attendant.
A blade once held by an attendant who cared deeply for his lord. Like his loyalty, its blade is unbent.
Where to Find Faith in NieR Automata
- In Route C, Inside the Flooded City: Soul Box. Enter the elevator once, and there will be two chests. The one on your right once you exit the elevator contains the weapon.
Faith NieR Automata Weapon Story
Faith Level 1 Weapon Story
"In the capital of a distant Eastern land, there lived a poet who was devoted to his art. But his words failed to touch the hearts of the people, and he could make no profit from them. Soon, his life became unbearably hard."
Faith Level 2 Weapon Story
"Seeing the limits of his talent, the poet chose to abandon the pen and work the land instead. Soon, his lily white skin began to grow dark, and his once frail body became sinewy and tough."
Faith Level 3 Weapon Story
"He eventually married a kind woman, and several years later, they had a child. As the peaceful, uneventful days went on, the man began to feel that there could be no greater happiness in life."
Faith Level 4 Weapon Story
"Or so the poet wrote before he put down his pen, swallowed the paper whole, and prayed that the next life might turn out so well. He then took Faith―already stained with the blood of another―and plunged it deep into his chest."

There will be more than 2 chests, depending on the number of sidequests/accomplishments you complete before entering the Soul Box. In my playthrough, there were 4 chests along the left side of the circle, one for hacking X number of enemies, one for completing machine lifeform requests, one for completing android requests, and one for collecting X number of collectibles. There may be more chests if you complete more unknown requirements.
Faith was in a chest on the right side of the circle, the only chest there, and it was for killing X number of machine lifeforms. Not sure, but this might mean Faith could be missable if you don't kill enough machines before entering the Soul Box.
It kinda looks like the Yamato from Devil May Cry, even the sword owner's story is identical to Vergil.
