Endings in NieR: Automata are different outcomes that can happen depending on your choices inside the game. There are two types of endings in the NieR Automata. Five of them are the primary endings, which are the ones that are unlocked after completing Routes and any other criteria. These are the A, B, C, D, and E endings. We are unaware of no other means to protect 2B from the virus than that. There's a "True Ending" where the player is asked if they want to save YoRHa; if they choose yes, they are then launched into a hacking minigame where they literally fight the credits; after winning that, they are then asked if they want to help other players; if they choose yes, they lose their save data, so I recommend saying no here unless you want to start over; after that, you get a cutscene where the pods are gathering up the androids. The fact that 2B, 9S, and A2 are among the collected android bodies suggests that they intend to restore them. Therefore, they might not stay dead.

How to Start Route B in NieR Automata?
You can immediately start Route B after completing Route A. You begin the game with Route B as a machine attempting to revive your brother. The liquid that is nearby and dripping from the pipe should be poured into the pail at the opposite end of the map. The game will change to 9S when you go back to your brother, so be careful to stay away from any pipes or other obstacles and don't jump, lest you trip and spill the bucket of oil.
What is ending C in NieR Automata?
A2 makes the decision to fight 9S, and with the help of Pod 042, near the end of the fight, she amputates his arm and gains access to his mind. How to get Ending E in NieR Automata?
Upon viewing either Ending C or D once more, during the credits, you will be prompted by Pod 153 to perform a data check. What is Ending E in NieR Automata?

Eve loses it once his brother is defeated and assaults 2B and 9S. Eve continues his assault by drawing lifeforce from the remaining machine lifeforms connected to the network. In an effort to disable his object control feature, 9S hacks Eve. 9S is corrupted by Eve's corruption while he is inside of him, but he eventually manages to get rid of Eve's object control feature. The gigantic home with figments of Eve and Adam seated across from one another is what 9S observes as he arrives at the end of Eve's maze. The fictional Eve speaks to the fictional Adam and expresses a desire to travel with him. Eve cries out to his brother as he bows down before 2B in defeat. He is killed when 2B stabs him in the head.

A2 battles 9S with great malice, but 9S is nearly defeated by her. As A2 considers 2B's request, 9S's sword pierces her, impaling her. While 9S falls next to A2 and impales himself on 2B's sword, A2 collapses to the ground in a pool of her own blood. He is killed while unsuccessfully attempting to remove 2B's blade from his torso. 9S recalls his background and his earlier goals in his closing hours. He is invited to join Adam and Eve on their Ark by Adam after feeling lost due to his functions. 9S is offered the option of choosing to live with the mechanical lifeforms in the Ark after realizing that the girls in red have opted against eradicating humans.
If he doesn't, 9S will glance up at the sky and speak his dying words before eventually shutting down: "So that's where you were...2B"

- [Ch. 06-01] After giving your report to commander you'll receive an email titled "Jackass: Fish". Speak to her at the Desert Camp to obtain the Mackerel item, which can be found in the "Caught Fish" menu. Eat it to earn this ending.
It didn't take long for the android's body fluids to coagulate after consuming the mackerel. Paralysis and muscle rigidity soon followed.

[Ch. 10-01_3] OR [Ch. 10-03] Either exit the Resistance Camp while it's being attacked OR abandon the entrance to Pascal's Village when the boss creature shows up.
Note: While you can acquire this ending two different ways, one involving abandoning Pascal, the ending text will always refer to abandoning the Resistance Camp.
Frustrated, 2B opted to go fishing instead of leaving the camp to its fate. Exactly, that's it! Fishing! She packed things and made her way to the coast while beaming. Ten years later, 2B would find herself the target of both YoRHa assassins and machine lifeforms, a life she seems to prefer over her former one.

[Ch. 14-03] Don't go to Pascal's Village when it's attacked while playing as A2. Running to the back of the Resistance Camp, Factory or Amusement Park instead should trigger this.
A2 had the sudden need to go for a short walk. Pascal's town had been reduced to ruins when she returned, despite the fact that the trek had given her a sense of fulfillment and calm.

[Ch. 05-01] Destroy every machine in Pascal's village
Note: Does not require you to destroy the machines actively using the slide if you've completed the quest which builds it. Also does not require destroying the reclusive machine, though that can be achieved by attacking through the walls of his house. In short, kill every machine waving a flag.
The deeds of one insane android destroyed a village of peaceful machines. The peaceful machines died out as a result. Now their village is a forbidden, haunted place. A close listener will hear the bizarre sounds of an android laughing.

[Ch. 11-03] Instead of proceeding forward to the City Ruins, simply run back towards the Factory. Alternatively, in [Ch. 11-04], instead of hacking into 2B when she is downed by the EMP, hack the other YorHa units around her until the mission fails, or simply walk away.
The operation was a failure due to several YoRHa units abandoning their task, and every android perished. Except for the truly selfish ones, that is. They were alright.

[Ch. 11-06] Allow 2B to die from the virus.
Note: May be able to be achieved more quickly by heading to your objective marker and stopping on/before the bridge leading to the commercial facility, as the infection percentage jumps up when you're near your goal for the sake of suspense.
The central nervous system of 2B was infected. She quickly became irrational and ended up wandering the ruins till her power ran out.

Devola and Popola, of course, perished. Soon later, each of their lifeless bodies was discovered, closely held in the other's arms.

Allow Emil to self-destruct at the end of the boss fight in the quest "Emil's Determination".
WARNING: Currently this is the only "missable" ending, and can prevent earning the "Transcendent Being" Trophy/Achievement "legitimately". Make sure to let Emil self-destruct and not save if you complete the fight without acquiring this ending, as there is no way to do the fight over. If one wishes to get the ending and finish the quest, you can save at Desert: Center to make restarting the fight after getting the ending quicker.
The Emils caused their fusion reactors to go out of control, turning the planet into a dead chunk of rock, tumbling through the vast vacuum of an uncaring universe.

- [Ch. 14-01] After leaving the desert, when you encounter and save Pascal outside the Resistance Camp, choose to kill him instead of sparing him.
A2 annihilated Pascal. After Pascal's passing, his town collapsed and its inhabitants lost control, which led to the elimination of all androids on Earth.

Is each player's help counted individually and only works for one player's walktrough, or is it kept to an extent? bc if answer 1 is the case, then the ratio of [saves donated/saves killed] doesn't make any sense for there to be any help left.

About V and S ending, I wanted to mention that after I had Popola and Devola come to the fight after first attempt to hack; I could go and save at: City ruins: Cave and run deeper to get S ending and next load would start right after I've hacked the three hubs, so if someone accidentally triggers the next phase, you're safe.

I ask this because I discovered that It may not truly be possible to achieve the "E" designation on a saved game. Because, if the Ending E, the [E]nd of YoRHa, is won all of the data will be forfeit and any and all game progresses are completely wiped clean and the game refreshes as if it had never been played... without any saved games.

There is a new ending after Z, I'm not sure is it was with the DLC or something overlooked but now I have some weird triangle symbol at the end of my ending list. anyone know what this is?

For ending M how I got it was to go to the cave at city ruins.

The aliens don't exist.
They are just "puppets", created so that machines and androids would continously adapt and grow up to resemble a human mind and brain, to a point in which either would be ready to receive the backups on the moon, without causing problems due to incompatibility with a "real" mind.
The aliens are for the machines, what YorHa is to the androids.

To anyone finding the ending E hard to do solo (or offline) and willing to do anything to earn it, you can use cheat engine - your ship has 3 maximum life, losing 1 per every hit.

There are other endings as well. So far i have found a "triangle" ending. Achieved for the quest "Mysterious Invitation", acceptable in the inbox closer to the end of the 9S's campaign.
Spoiler: In that quest you play back memories of a machine who wasnt good at anything and in the end it is revealed that some machines are poor creatures who are forced to kill.

It's all about seving or abandoning 2B in this mission which works for both situations.

Ending 'O' isn't wrong. I just achieved it using their instructions... It may be that you can get it multiple ways.

Ending O is chapter chapter 11-04 contaminated YoRHa. Instead of hacking into 2B and saving her. Simply run awag from 2B and the contaminated yohra units

There's also Ending H which is when you run away instead of fighting the Goliath that appears while you're in the Machine Village. So if you run to the theme park instead of heading to the objective, you'll get it.
