Spear of the Usurper is a Spear in NieR: Automata. Spear of the Usurper has a good damage on its own, but with the Critical+, it provides explosive damage when critical damage is applied. The other ability this weapon has is Turncoat, this is applied when you hit an enemy, it will then turn on your side and help you eliminate other enemies in the area. Spears are Weapons with long reach with a unique moveset. They perform powerful attacks, though they are relatively slower than Small Swords, their sweeping attacks do provide excellent maneuverability of crowds, although their attack patterns are usually catered for fighting a single enemy rather than facing a crowd.

At Level 4, it gives +10% Critical Hit Chance. This, when combined with high level Critical Up chip, can be devastating for the enemies.
Turncoat is super useful in DLC Arenas, since there are many strong opponents. When even one of them turns in an ally of yours, it helps a lot to get away pressure from you.
Also, since it's a spear, you can quickly give heavy damage to enemies from afar: if they're using short range weapons, like sword or axes, or circular saws, you may start damaging them before they had the chance to do the same to you.
It pairs well with Cypress Stick.
