Best Combat Bracers in NieR Automata
- Demon's Cry - a combat bracer shaped after a demon's profane fangs. This is arguably the best weapon in the game not because of the base damage, but because of its special abilities. With Combat Bracers already having the fastest attack speed out of all the weapon types, this weapon still grants an increase in attack speed, coupled with the Devil's Hatred it creates a shockwave upon defeating an enemy.
- Angel's Folly - this weapon has the best base damage among all the Combat Bracers on the list. It also increases your attack speed and with Angel's Mercy, it restores a portion of your health upon defeating an enemy.
- Cruel Lament - a combat bracer that resembles a samurai armor. It increases attack speed and with Dark Impulse, it increases your attack damage when you're below 30% health.
- Virtuous Grief - a combat bracer that also resembles a samurai armor. This weapon also increases your attack speed and with the Holy Blessing, it increases your attack damage when you're at full health.
- Type-3 Fists - part of the outdated YoRHa weapon models, but this combat bracers still packs explosive power. It increases your defense and with Finish Blast, it adds an additional attack after successfully finishing a combo.
Weapons Overview in NieR Automata
There are four different types of Weapons in NieR Automata, Small Swords, Large Swords, Spears, and Combat Bracers. You can obtain different weapons in different ways, by purchasing them through shops, finding them in different chests, and completing different quests. Each weapon type has a different type of attack speed and damage output, and each weapon is unique that it offers a different set of special abilities. All weapons that you obtain in the game can be used by all the playable characters.
Each weapon can be upgraded up to Level 4 which is the max upgrade for any type of weapon. Upgrading a weapon increases the damage and opens up abilities that will make the weapon even more powerful in combat. In most locations, you can only upgrade a weapon up to Level 3, you will need to find Masamune, located in the Castle of the Forest Zone in order to upgrade your weapons to Level 4.
Defeating enemies is key in gathering money to purchase materials and upgrade your weapons. At the start of the game, there are robots roaming around near the resistance camp that you can take out easily. As you progress through the game, the level of enemies will increase, and defeating enemies is vital in progressing through the game.
In combat, melee isn't the only way to deal damage to your opponent. You can always use your Pods, these are small robots that follow you and provide assistance to you while in combat by using projectiles for opponents that are not within your melee range. These pods can also help you in extending your combos. There are enemies that are hard to reach with your melee attacks, and these pods can also help in staggering your opponents.

Stun Up Insanity (Drives the player insane) |
[Route B] Rewarded for defeating the hidden Emil boss fight. |

"Drives the player insane". Indeed it does, but it's not worse than literally running after that a**hole for 3+ hours trying to get him to sell you what you want

Virtuos Grief is also obtainable in route C/D. I missed it on routes A and B and can confirm you can still get it.

Virtuous Grief can be found inside a tree with chains East-Northeast of the Forest Zone: Center transport thing if you place the castle on the map directly north. Getting there is a bit roundabout- you need to find your way to get on top of the rocks that look like you should be able to get up to (which you can) that are next to the huge canyon, because the tree is located on those upper level rocks. When searching for a way up, you should always be near the canyon separated the Castle and the Forest Zone, while on the Forest Zone side.

"[Route A] In a hollowed-out tree with chains on it, on a high plateau in the southwest end of Forest Zone: Center."
Ah, yes, the southwest, let me just check the compass that the game doesn't have.
So im in route C/D, stopped Emil at the Resistance Road and I've bought both Angel's Folly and Type-3 Fists.

What happen if i'm already at route B or something, i can't got back those weapons only route A ?

if you go fishing in the sewers you can get the iron pipe..
its only under "all weapons" but it is to find neither in sword nor spear nor bracer.
but it has a sword symbol
it also has a story. attack 30-220, combot lt:2, hv1
Added the Emil Heads to the table. Attack and combo values are inconsistent with the Type-3 Fists and Angel's Folly. They instead display their Lv 4 values rather than the base Lv 1. I refrained from changing it cuz I don't know what finalized format is best: at base Lv 1 or at maxed Lv 4.

alas emils head, its missing in the fist weapons, its a reward after killing emile boss

There are weapons missing there. Like Type-3 Fists and Angel's Folly. You can find both at Emils running shop across the map. About 25k each.
You can get Cruel Lament on Route C. If it took you until C to get a weapon to level 4, then just sell the Blacksmith something (doesn't matter what it is) and he'll give you the Bracers as a gift.
