Marx is a Boss in NieR: Automata. Marx is a Special Unit Machine and the first boss unit encountered in the game. Bosses are special larger Enemies that can be encountered throughout the game in different Locations. A Boss encounter will usually signify game progress or a chapter ending when following the main storyline. Some of these bosses may first be encountered As NPCs to introduce some Lore and backstory before they are inevitably faced in a Combat encounter as a Boss. Boss encountered are identified by their introductory title that will be displayed just before combat begins. Their HP bar and Level will also be displayed above the character throughout the combat encounter. Some bosses in the game may be optional and avoided. All information on optional or required bosses stats, Locations, encounters and strategies can be found on their designated Bosses

A massive Goliath-class machine lifeform that resembles heavy machinery of old. While it appears to have been constructed solely for its destructive abilities, a closer look at its features tells a different story. While in combat, it comes after foes with a repurposed bucket-wheel excavator.

Marx Strategies NieR Automata

Marx Strategy (Melee) NieR Automata

Since Marx operates on a long extended arm, you will have time to react as soon as each attack begins. Watch and avoid the landing area of the saw. If it lands vertically and starts to sweep make sure you don't get caught in it as it sweeps back. If it lands horizontally back up in anticipation of its sweep. Throughout he fight, Marx will also continuously release some orbs that will slowly make its way towards you. These orbs are released from very far away and come sloy so they will be easy to avoid. After every attack, it leaves the buzzsaw just sitting there waiting for you to attack it nonstop. Make sure you're locked-on to him and shooting at all times to take him down ASAP. This should allow you to quickly deplete its HP.

Marx Attacks NieR Automata

First Phase
Buzzsaw It lays the buzzsaw horizontally and slowly moves forward towards your possition. Simply back away from it to avoid getting hit.
Vertical Thrust It has a Vertical Thrust in which it slams the buzzsaw to wherever your possition may be. Keep your finger on the dodge button so you can avoid it as soon as it launches its attack.
